Now that I feel I’ve pretty much have the maneuver down (on the sim). All can tell you is practice, practice, practice. It will take awhile to get around the hurdles of wanting to give outside roller inputs but it will come. Just give yourself a little stick time each day doing this maneuver (to the left and to the right). Once you get to a point each day where you feel your regressing, stop and do something else. Also… I don’t fly AFPD so I don’t know much about it. If it has a Time Expansion feature, where you can fly the plane in slow motion, try that too for a few times.

Don’t give up, pretty soon you will be giving pointers to the next guy that is in the same situation.
