If the e start you've got does not work for you, check out the TigerDrive setup up from Sullivan. As an added bonus, you can drill a small hole in the cowl for glow and starter, to fire it up without pulling the cowl off.
As for club rules, If the referee DQ's you for how the engine got started, Who cares? Everyone will know who won, and why. It won't be because of the starter...
