Quickie's are a blast, but they are . . . quick. As mentioned, you don't need much control throw (they're built to go fast and turn left). Our club president lost a wheel on his (also with a .40LA) and he brought it in with the most beautiful slow flair and just did a little quarter turn when it touched the grass. They actually fly very well as sport models. But, I doubt you'll need 45º throws. Set dual rates and punch in half that for the low and flip up to there on high. I bet you'll find 15º elevator enough for full speed loops.
