I don't know how they made them, but there were two at the '95 Giant Scale Air Race in Galveston, TX.
The first one was flown by Ron Goodrich of the Braun Racing Team. It had a couple of A-Cubed, 8.8 c.i.d., engines and weighed 40 pounds. It took 4th in Silver.
Found something interesting: You can see a video of it flying on
www.youtube.com. Type in "Pond Racer" in the search bar. Funnything, at the end of the video it says filmed 9/9/06. Is this thing still flying after 10 years?
I'm not sure who was flying the second one. It didn't place, so I couldn't find any specs on it.
