Mike, Bofcr says that he is a dyed-in-the-wool scratch builder for over 30 years... this kind of modeler has his own preferences in building methods and materials, so if he is up to the task and wants to dedicate his time to it, a detailed 3 view of a particular airplane will help him more than plans to make a truly outstanding model.

30+ years ago, a r/c magazine showed each month a 3 view from aircraft they called "planes worth modelling"... many people used them to do everything from rubber powered models to u/c or r/c "full house, .61 powered r/c planes"... this russian site can be used as
it modern equivalent for anyone who wants to build a jet from scratch.
