Default RE: Flying Wing

He he. That Mega really rocks, huh?
Here's where I got my APC props.... http://www.nesail.com/detail.php?productID=2209
I never tried one of their 5x5, but I bet it will out perform the spoon type. I'm running a 6x4 on an X30 Hacker ESC and have moved up to a Maxamps 3000 mah Li-po. Everything is still perfectly balanced and wo, does it haul. The extra weight of the heavier battery didn't seem to effect anything. I glued in all spars on this one and am getting NO flutter, so can really go all out with it. I'm getting no heating and lots of performance out of this set up. Just give your electronics a feel for temp when you set her down and you'll have a good idea if anything is being 'taxed' or not.
I really love flying these things, so I'm trying something new with another XE2 wing. I've adding a huge rudder, made oversized ailerons, and moved the motor to the front. I used a Hacker A20-20L motor, turning an 11x4.7 APC, with an X20 ESC and a 1500 mah Maxamps battery to keep everything as light as possible. It will be interesting to see what kind of moves I can make her do. Like you, we are getting our fair share of winter here, so even though I'm 'grounded' I'm having fun designing and building.
It should be a different kind of aerobat and can't wait to get it in the air.
I'll post a photo of my newest creation.
Happy Landings.
