SS........When do you plan on coming up again this way? As you know , weather here in Oregon is really friggin' weird in the winter. It's been weird for the last 5-6 years. Check this out , three days ago , it was sunny and 65* , yesterday clouds rolled in , and down poured hail!!!......go figure. You mentioned you have a smaller edge of some type. Is it the WH 28%? If you can pack that thing along on one of these nicer weekends , we'll hook up for sure and go flying. I still have almost two months before that sukoi will probably be here , so i'm collecting all the rest of my electronics and ect......so i can get it put together when it get's here. Also....If you "can" , try and schedule it with me a few weeks in advance , because i can drive to portland somewhere and meet you up off of hwy 84. That's the hwy that comes into portland from the dalles , (depending on the way you come in). I'm a contractor , and do remodels , addition's and patch and repair in the wonderfull world of drywall , and right now , i am so slammed , i'm working 12-15 hour days , 7 days a weeK!!

Bubba......I sold my 33% yak to my room mate gary , and that is the same motor he just bought for it too (80XI-CS) they are supposed to great little motor's. I'm really leaning towards the 3W 106 , mailnly because they are supposed to be a little more "newb gasser" freindly , which is exactly what i am. This plane is going to be a learning curve for me , but i'm not worried.

*** also....on a side note : Last night i took a magnifiying glass and a flashlight , and was checking out the exaust ports of the 3W80 CS , and to be honest , i wasn't thrilled with the ports. I have been around ported engine's and modification's on 2 stroke motor's for over 25 years , and the grinding and polishing on those ports we're disgusting. I am thinking of taking the jug off , and running it up to my engine builder "Ainsley modification's" and having him do a quick little clean out on the ports. Honestly , on those exaust ports , a person could clean those port's up exactly like they are in about 10 minutes. From all the years in racing MX , i know what a ported motor is supposed to look like , and i know what a "cleaned" up motor looks like........the 3W 80 CS isn't really even cleaned up. I can see where they opened the ports up a little at the very tail end of the exaust before it exit's the jug going into the exuast maniflod , but "before that" eep inside the port's , is still really rough. It's no big deal really. I am not going to have him change , or port the motor out , but i'm going to have him just clean them up to smooth. On our older 250 2 strokes , if someone just took the time to clean all the burr's off from the casting and polished them all up in the exaust ports and power valve area , you could gain 3-4 HP over a stock motor.

Sailing 1.........I was contiplating on weather i should use the 5955's , but i think your right , the 5985's should work for the wings. I was going to read through the entire build thread on the sukoi before i purchase anything really. I'll get whatever most recomend as long as they are Hitec.
