Default RE: Feul soaked wood???

K2R is available at most Walmarts and grocery stores It is in the section with laundry detergents. I have been using it for years with great success.
With kitty litter, you will have to mash it into a fine powder. It will not get all of the oil out. The K2R will get every last spot off oil out. You need to find a way to vacuum out the oily K2R out of the fuselage. It will take 2-3 applications to get all of the oil out. Just make sure that you get all of the K2R out of the wood before fuel proffing the wood again. Once the oil is completely gone, you can just blow the rest of the K2R out with compressed air. If you don't get all of the oil and K2R out of the wood, the epoxy, dope or whatever you use for fuel proffing will eventually lift off of the wood.
I even use K2R to pull the oil out of full scale fiberglass cowls when I need to repair them!
