Default Stuffing a .60 into a GP Extra 300 .40 kit

Put in the maiden flight last Thursday, took off with 3D rates on the elevator, try not to do that folks, boy was it pitch sensitive!Had the idle set a bit too low and had the first landing deadstick. With a tid bit of a headwind coming down the runway, she settled in like a slightly heavy trainer......no big deal, actually very smooth. 2nd flight, dodging the rain, unlimited vertical, could hang it on the prop as long as the wind conditions and my skill allowed me to. Did a lomchevck type parachute into a harrier into an elevator! Now that is the way this airplane was supposed to fly like! Something a stock set up with an underpowered engine couldn't do! Very happy with the results, well worth the careful planning and modifications, even worth dealing with some crap from some of the readers, you know who I am talking about. Still haven't got an official weight on this one yet, but I will tell you this, it weights very close to the ARF version with an OS .70 4-stroke, but outperforms it like someone flying the Extra with a .70 4 stroke versus a .46 FX or a . 40 LA. Then again, what do you really expect with 2.5 HP? This airplane was designed for a 1.25 to 1.62 HP engine with small tail feathers, which works great for non-3D type flying, but if you want extreme 3D and an unlimited IMAC type plane, these mods were the ticket.
