Glad to see this thread has had a happy ending.

I have just finished my own GP Extra 40. AUW is 2620g, bang on the nose as to what GP say it should be at 5.75 lb.

Power is a Saito 72. Ok so it won't be unlimited vertical, but it will have enough for me. I never intended to have this as a 3D plane, just a good smooth aerobatic flyer. I have a GP Cap 232 waiting to be built for 3D.
