I have mounted a BVM UAT in a MiG15, inclined and facing forward as per the instructions, however can the tank be mounted so the fill and tank feed brass nipples are under under the main cap (down), or MUST they be above (up)?
Attached is a pic of the proposed installation with the nipples in the down position.
it does not matter how it is mounted as long you get the air out it is fine.
in your case you need to have the plane inverted to refuel it :-)
anyway just mount it vertical or horizontal it does not matter , like gordon says tilt the nose slightly to get the air out while refueling..
