I still use 4 cell or 5 cell nicads on all my research planes which see many hours of full power runs depending on the vintage of the 3w ignition on the engine. Nicads can take a lot of abuse, quick charged in the field and keep on working. They are more tolerant to vibration than NiMH, and they don't weigh that much more.
