Look, there really IS an issue with 2.4GHz in carbon fuselages. It is entirely possible to get around it, but don't go saying there's no issue. I went and measured the attenuation of a carbon MiniBlade's fuse, it was over 20dB. In other words, a 100x range reduction. So, it is absolutely necessary to get the receiver picking up signal from outside. If the wings and tail are carbon as well, it may be necessary to get the antennas widely dispersed over the outside of the model. See here for one answer to the problem:
