RE: Glow Igniter.
I'd recommend any glow igniter with a meter on it, so you can see if its making contact. I'd also recommend a twist-lock style igniter, because I also fly planes, and I've had issues with the coil-over type ones popping off and getting chewed up by the prop. Plus, I found that the twist-lock ones, even on RC cars, have a more secure connection then the coil-over ones. I use a McDaniel Ni-Starter by Sonic Tronics as my primary, and a Duratrax Ultra Slim AA glow starter as the backup. It has a 1800mAh Ni-MH battery which doesn't self-discharge as quickly as Ni-Cad batteries, and if need be, I can swap the battery out for an AA if the Ni-MH battery and the Ni-Starter are both dead.
