If you have a Futaba transmitter, You need a receiver that uses negative shift. Hitec makes both positive and negative shift receivers, as well as a few models that are shift selectable. I believe Airtronics uses positive shift. Having said this, I would suggest that you limit your investment in AM. If you are going to buy them, look for people who are trying to unload spare radios. For example, it's quite common for people who buy RTR boats to replace the AM receiver with an FM one that works with their existing radios. These radios are usually brand new.
