LDM, Very cool Corsair you have there... have you tried the fine steel wool weathering trick??? it gives a true painted metal effect.
I described method in earlier post.

I forgot to mention after primer is applied prior to colour coat spray some Humbrol or similar aluminum colour around wing roots and panel access areas as once top colour coats dry you can gently rub over with 1800-2000 wet and dry (used wet) and viola warn metal effect comes through, looks awesome and no way will you get the same effect with a brush and dabbed on silver paint!
