MVVS prescribes 95 octane (RON) or better. That's 91 pump octane in the US. There is no need for any timing adjustments.
If xman2000 wants to test his engine with regular 87 (PON), let him.
I have been running my engine on 87 octane and it runs just fine... as far as timing adjustment, it will be necessary to advance it
