SV27 - Batteries after dunk
So on my 2nd run ever, I manage to put the SV27 into a spectacular on-water crash. The hatch goes flying, and the stern fills with water and sinks. Thank goodness for the foam in the bow! Needless to say, the boat now has a lot more foam in it, and the hatch is well-taped.
Anyhow, this put the batteries into a completely submerged condition for about 5 minutes until I could rescue the boat. Batteries are Duratrax 3800's with Deans. They were shrink-wrapped, but I couldn't get the residual water out of the shrink after about 1 day in front of a fan. So I cut off the shrink-wrap to completely dry the packs.
Questions:
(1) Did dunking the batteries harm them in any way?
(2) Now that the shrink-wrap is off, I'm finding the bottom of the packs wet after a run due to water entry in the interior (still hunting down the water leak). There's not much water in there, but the Velcro seems to suck up and retain the water. Will this water hurt the packs?
