The receiver will handle a 2 cell lipo pack but most likely the servos will not, they would be very fast and powerfull for a short time tho.
Heheheh. I have a couple servos for that purpose.
OTOH, while I don't care about the servos going out in a blaze of glory, I do care about my runaway car doing the same. So perhaps it would be a good idea to use the voltage regulator from the start. Next question would be, do those small $30 voltage regulators made for LiPo packs put out a lot of heat themselves like a resistor, or are they some kind of more efficient design.
