Default RE: SP Series sizing question . . . .

Hi all,

have a SP 120 running now for 2 hours on the bench, it will pull a scratch built Jeep (foto shows electric driven small prototype),
wingspan 180 cm, weight will be 5,5 kg. My engine runs very reliable with Graupner Titan fuel, 12% Nitro and 15% fully synthetic oil,
simply because I could not find the synthetic/rizinus mixture over here in Austria. Titan Oil is very similar and compatible with Aerosave oil wchich might be more common, however both are claimed to be high end lubricants. So far it works fine.
Reading the post of mboland concerning some lack of power on his Corsair I wonder wether the 120 SP will be strong enough for my Jeep. You said, she cruises scale-like on half power, but take-off runs are long and there is a lack of climb power. Do you use an APC Prop ? Have you tried a 2blade prop to compare performance ? Yes it spoils the scale appearance, but what I have read about the SP´s in the meantime (a lot!) it might be a big difference.
By the way, the corsair looks GREAT!
