Use something like a Sullivan flexible cable system. Drill a new hole in the firewall if you have to to accommodate the new location of the throttle arm. If you do drill a new hole us a piece of wood scrap to plug the old hole and coat the area with some epoxy to fuel proof it. Good luck.
