I have to say that that is the first time I've heard of that. Been running them this way for 7 years now without a problem. I usually don't run them very long, just enough to tune them. May have something to do with the planes themselves. Thanks for the tip though. As far as straddling them, I loop a nylon strap over the rear of the fuse in front of the vertical stab and under the horizontal stabs. That's on a 1" thick steel bar driven well into the ground. That means the plane can lift the tail about one inch. Can't imagine it lifting up on one wheel unless you had a serious torque issue. Good thing you caught it.
