Default Wing Detailing

I know I should put something on the wings to disciminate top or bottom. My covering job (using Ultracote) came out perfect (I used cub yellow). So tonight, I was going to use 5" strips of adhesive back covering in Black and Red to make like the German Flag colors on the wings. Well, when I put the adheisve back covering on (using windex, which works great), near the leading edge (on the top) I could not get it to lay flat without major bubbles. I suspect this is due to the wing braces. So, I took it all off and said "I'm not ruining my good covering job with bubbled strips of covering". So I am frustrated.. So, any ideas? Where can I get some decent decals other than Tower Hobby? Shoudl I just use some 2-3" strips of sticker covering?

I know I am whining here, but if you guys can give me some ideas, I would appreciate it..
