You're exactly right, make sure the CG is not AFT! Mine is actually foward and it doesn't seem to hurt it a bit, but it does make landing easier. Andy Kane also told me that the flaps can blank the stab at some attitudes during landing, so you should limit the flap throw to no more than listed in the manual.
There was a Flash at Liberty Jets that had some real issues landing, and I think the owner was not happy with the airplane, but mine is a blast to fly, and land. The last time we went out to Ft. Pickett, I shot touch-and-goes until I ran it out of fuel I was having so much fun. The dead-stick landing was no big deal either. I think I flew for about an hour and a half before it finally ran out... Man that P-120SE really sips the fuel!
