FMS may be good to teach rudimentary orientation, but it's flight model is not up to the fidelity of most of the better ( more expensive ) sims.

The better the flight model, the quicker the student will pick up the "muscle memory" needed to fly the real RC planes.

Also a better fidelity flight model lets you attempt those stunts on the sim at first, that you can later undertake on the field.
