Default RE: TWO separate engine problems

I have to agree with JohnBuckner. Quit turning it over by hand. The stiffness and clicking are normal on a new engine, and your continued turning it over by hand could possibly cause more damage than good. There is no way in the world to break-in the engine by hand which is what you seem to be trying to do. You're not going to be able to get the engine to the proper operating temperature without running it. And you turning it over by hand can possibly cause damage to the metal of the engine due to a lack of proper lubrication. Even though you are putting in a few drops of oil in the cylinder it's not enough to properly protect the engine, and you are only getting oil in the cylinder with nothing to protect the crankshaft, bearings, and connecting rod. You really need to wait until you get some fuel to break this engine in. If you have to wait until spring to get some fuel my best advice to you is to put this engine away until then, before you wind up ruining the engine for good.
