1) Will the elmod kits work in a non-S&S tank? And if so, what's the difference? They don't seem to interact with the smoke generator at all and the Blaster II will replace the HL stock speaker and board so it seems to me that you're not gaining anything (this is with the stock HL receiver board though, which I think has fewer channels than the S&S one). Also, why is the Panzer III not listed as compatible?
Sorry but I really am new at this. I only bought my tiger in January and my Panzer a week ago. I have the Plain grey versions.
Hi Panzerfaust77
Yes it works.
I have one non-S&S Tiger I with El-Mod's TLS&Booster-unit. And I have to say that it's behaving is different like day and night with those mods. It simulates the momentum of mass as it should (at least I thinks real ones behaves that way).
And yes, with proportional version You lose smoke-unit (but in non-S&S, You don't have it anyway). FAQ says that with HL-controller You still have S&S.
Biggest difference is in sounds, in HL You have always the same voices, but with Blaster II -unit You can modify Your own. I have not yet tried one myself (so this part is only "hear-say" -talk. But I like the idea to have different sounds with different panzers.
Simplifying:
If You want to use commercial transmitter (like Spectrum 2.4Ghz) -> El-Mod is only choise with proportional unit, until Darkith get his ready.
If You want better movement or/and sound -> El-Mod or Darkith
Panzer III is also compatible with El-Mod's units. They recommended to use Tiger I -simulation as they were both quite slow in their movements.
Hope this helps,
RR
