If you want a military kind of look but with "baby" characteristics on take offs and landings...the L-39 Albatros is a very good plane. The MB 339 is there too. Just don't over engine them, thinking that will help you get them off the ground quicker. Go with factory suggested turbine rather than adding throttle AND weight that the plane is not designed for. Short fields...stay away from Fighter type planes...more for bail out or overshot approaches. I have a Jet Legends L-39, Skymaster F-16 1/6 scale, F-18 1/8 scale Skymaster Super Hornet, BVM KingCat and Comp ARF Lightning...ALL of them are my favorite planes!!!
