apparently RCU lost my reply or something.
Our sock lasted about 3 years, I think. It's just been out in the weather all that time, I'm not sure if the winter weather or the UV did it in. It's still up there, but there are some tears, so it's due for replacement. We have an 8-foot long one, which is really visible, but the extra length seems to make it want to fold in light winds, and it's along that fold that a couple of splits have developed. It might actually last longer in an area with more steady winds, I don't know. Or a shorter sock might last longer.
