For about $50 you can get another receiver and crystal and get back to flying. If it were me I'd spend the postage and send it in for appraisal and cost quote and go ahead and get another elsewhere. If the reply is favorable I might would have it fixed just to have spare handy but as much as everything costs now ($50 just to fill up my car), I sure wouldn't dawdle over it.
