i picked up a megatech freedom flyer because it said fun to fly, easy to fly, ready to fly.so far the only flying it did when it actualy got off the ground was about 75 feet tipping the wings from side to side the whole way.after that it appears to me the plane is to heavy to leave the ground.the only lift off i can get now is take off into the wind then it either takes a hard left or right immediately after take off (about 1 to 2 foot in the air) has any one else had this bad luck.i email megatech and got no response at all.i have flown glow trainers before and they are no trouble to get into the air.this thing is just a pain in the @$$/wasnt wort the $130 i paid for it for sure.is it posible i just got a bad plane?
Also as mentioned this plane works much better if hand launched. I know it says it can do ROG take offs but as you have found it is not easy. Additionally all aircraft should be launched and landed into the wind. Although overpowered aircraft can usually take off in whatever direction the pilot may choose it is always safer to use the headwind to your advantage.
