RE: Lanier 94" Yak help
No standoffs on the DA-85, use a plywood spacer. Mine came with standoffs and I have to change them to a ply spacer. THe standoffs reportedly can twist the case, or contribute to it.
That really is'nt much of a carb hole. The DA-85 carb would not fit throught it. Mine carb needles are right at the edge of the firewall with the carb into the box about a 1/4 inch.
Of course, I dont know the recommended spec distance.
My canopy just about blew off, tonite. I was 1/2 throttle flat spinning it upright. When I came down, canopy was blown out in one place, again, it looked like fuse had bowed and broke a bit by the canopy screw holes, almost pulling one through. And the top of canopy wood was cracked .
I am just going open up some of the back of the fuse, for peace of mind.
I need very very little rudder, maybe 11 deg (quess) for 90deg KE at mid throttle, a hint of reverse aileron. I am going to go farther back on the CG. Farther than 7.25 inches. Maybe to mid-tube exactly or slight behind center of tube.
I Gooped my KAVANS to the hubs and they are fine in the grass now.
