Default RE: 1/4 Scale F4U-1A Don Smith Plans Build

I finished up the choke linkage and started on the right wing tip panel. Before I could glue anything in place I had to add the dowels for keeping the wing in line. Don only had the bolt in the wing tube to do this. David put in dowels with back up blocks so I just did the same. I used Polplar dowels and Poplar back up blocks that I had laying around. I drilled both of the plywood #11 ribs so the wing would line up correctly. There wouldn't have been any way to do this once it was built. The reason there a little burned is the blade in my table saw is getting real dull. It's time to replace it after 5 years. I got my moneys worth. Tomorrow I'll start to glue the ribs in place to the bottom spars. Heres what the blocks with the dowls look like. I hate to say it but this thing is getting heavier by the day. But it's better to be safe than sorry. It needed the blocks and dowels.
