You're better off folding and tossing paper airplanes off the porch for practice than to hope you'll get any practical r/c training with a shoot-em-up flight simulator (though IL-2 Sturmovik is a GREAT game). Maybe if your game controler is similar to the R/C Transmitter box. Even your friend with the EAA Bipe can tell you full-scale pilots have trouble starting out with R/C. You NEVER have to fly a real plane at yourself to land it.
