I've made up many of these types of packs for slow and park flyer use. Go to radio shack. By the soldering section, get some desoldering braid. This is thin copper braid that wicks up very well. Use this stuff for terminal to terminal connection. And its cheap to boot!

Yes. This is the way to go. You can get it in many different sizes to suit the job. Make sure you tin the braid liberally in advance as any exposed copper will corrode.
