For as cheap as this airplane is, invent away!!
If I do this again, the first thing I would do is get a speed brake installed under the fuel tank area. The airplane doesn't really need flaps to land slowly, it does need drag.
I used Robart 550 retract units bolted to the existing rails. Only problem has been the screws like to loosen up every so often.
