Default RE: Top Flite B-25 - Wingspan Models Add-ons Build Thread

Start by taping the front edge of the cutting template to the centerline at the mark we made earlier. Then place the rear of the cutting template to the centerline of the fuselage. Once you are certain the template is properly positioned it needs to be taped down completely to the fuselage, including over the sides of the fuselage.

Before starting to cut it’s a good idea to put a new blade in your hobby knife. Nothing is a substitute for a sharp blade, and not having one will just make a huge mess of your cuts. Just as we did on the top turret, start by cutting through the template and scoring the fuselage underneath. Once you have cut the entire template marked go ahead and remove the cutting template. Take the hobby knife and continue cutting out the fuselage. Don’t try to cut through the formers and stringers at this time. In the pictures I have marked where the formers and stingers are located. Do this to make it easier to find them when we come back to cut them with a razor saw.

Pictures
1. Place the front edge of the template on the mark previously made.
2. Align the centerline of the template with the marked centerline of the fuselage.
3. Verifying the position of the template.
4. Completely tape down the cutting template.
5. Tape down the sides of the template.
6. Before cutting the fuselage put a new blade in the hobby knife.
7. Cut through the template and score the fuselage below.
8. Cut through the template and score the fuselage below.
9. Use the score lines to cut through the outer skin of the fuselage.
10. Use the score lines to cut through the outer skin of the fuselage.
11. Mark the stringers to make is easier to cut them with a razor saw.
12. Mark the formers to make it easier to cut them with a razor saw.

Until next time
