Simply turn the crank until the conrod is at the very top ie, the piston is at it's highest, most extended position.
While holding the crank in that position, and with the barrel in the position of the port showing in both carb and exhaust, held in place with your toothpick in each, slide the piston in.
Bolt up.
Done.
