Default RE: Airboat spoiler ?

ORIGINAL: bayward

Who has experimented with a spoiler on the front of their airboat to keep the bow down at high speed ?

How about that spoiler being computer radio mixed in with the throttle ? So the spoiler would proportionately produce more down pressure on the bow as the speed increased.

It has been done but I belive it's not the proper fix. Most of my flat bottoms have fliped at one time or another. It usally happened a higher speeds and quickly comming off the throttle. This make the bow light and a back flip will occur. My fix..... Adjust the cg by moving weight.

I would start with the engine since it's the heaviest added piece. I built many adjustment holes in my engine stand so the cg could be moved around.
