RE: 1/4 Scale F4U-1A Don Smith Plans Build
Today it was back to building. I planked the rest of the bottom of the fuselage in front of the wing and put in the thick blocks so I can dremel them out for the single pipe that is lower than the two on each side in the area just above the wing. I also built those boxes I was talking about for when the wing goes together there is a space for all the servo wire conections to hide out of the way. Every thing is epoxied in and then coated again with 30 minute epoxy. This was done after the picture. The boxes are made out of 1/8" plywood for strength since I dremeled out the hole in the rib for the boxes. It seems good and strong. Here is what they look like. Also since I am attaching the center section to the fuselage permanently I have decided to put the rx and the rest of the radio system in the wing with a hatch on each side of the wing outside of the fuselage's belly on the bottom side for access need be. The rest of the servos have hatches already except for the TW steering servo.
