RE: rush evo non starter
Hi there Shane, i hope you havent all ready took of the clutch bell or shoes, as these can be tricky to put back on. The clicking noise is nothing wrong, it is the clutch shoes retrackting back in, nothing to worry about, and would not affect the engine at idle. I recently removed my clutch bell and put it on wrong, and messed with my engine and it reved really high, and cut out after 1 second, but i did not put the engine in wright and it chewed up my center diff, spur gear. So if i where you i would leave all the bits were they are as its the engine that is at fault, so i would concentrate on that. I will try and help you as your engine is acting exatly like mine. Mine works now, because i took it to my local hobby shop, it cost 10 pounds but he talked me through it and i understand the engine alot more, so i may be able to help you out with my extra kwnolage of the nitro engine. First of all, fill the tank and prime the engine, use your mouth to blow on the exhast tube to prime it, (blow that tiny bit extra when its primed) then pull it till it starts, then twist the little screw on the carberetta, not the long one there sould be one on the side. Twist that in little bits at a time if this is in the wrong place it can dramaticly affect your engine from starting. Take off your air filter and open the carb to full, the gap between the needle and little tube should be as thick as a 1 pound coin. Now try the engine if there is still no luck there is a little black screw you can twist. Twist this little bits at a time either way, this is the idle screw and if set wrong it wont idle correctly but keep twisting these needles little bits at a time and hopfully you should get it to at least tick over. Then sort the idle and the mixture screw(the mixture screw is the long one on the carb, twist this right in, then 2 full turns out, that is factury setting, do this at the begining, and leave it like that till it is running this can be left like this as it wont be the problem i should of mentiond this before sorry), but if no joy the hobby shop should do it for you, and if you ask what it was it will only be because the screws are setup slighly wrong, the tinyest twist can change the whole car, keep trying. I think the idle screw should be about 3cm out. Also if you ever break your pull start, as i have, a few times. It happens with pulling a non starter, look on You Tube for pull start repair by squirral, very good. I can fix mine in 2 minutes now. You will get it started, the guy in the shop said it was just the needles, i thought the whole engine was buggard, but these screws are so impotant just fine tuning, good luck.
