"Aerotique Road Show"...?
One purpose of this thread is to discuss pros and cons of purchasing used stuff and what criteria one might consider...kind of like "Antique Road Show".
The following were picked up at a club auction over the weekend 2100 miles from my home by one of my pals. He just e-mailed me the photos revealing what appears to be a real find and well a stinker that has potential.
The Tiporare kit is probably a find:
1. Not completed
2. Easy to ship
3. Visible water damage on some of the wing sheeting
4. Very rare
5. Very fine flying model
6. Market price $275+ plus shipping from Phoenix area. (PM) me if you are interested.
The UFO has potential...
1. Includes Webra motor/muffler
2. Includes Rhom-Air retracts (imagine the O rings are a bit stiff)
3. Includes the Futaba servos...(wowee, look at those gems!)
4. Looks heavy
5. Diificult to ship
6. Value as a RTF model is minimal
7. Value as a "rare" fiberglass fuselage with "rare" Webra motor is interesting
8. Market price based on #6 is $50...based on #7 $250+ plus shipping from Phoenix area. (PM) me if you are interested.
