Simply use the watts-per-pound rule of thumb for your power level sanity check.
Let's use your measurements of about 1000 watts per motor and a flying weight of 23lbs. Simply add the twin motor power together for 2000 watts and divide by 23lbs to get 2000/23 = 87w/lb which will provide plenty of power to fly your BF-110 'Zerstorer' and perform scale aerobatics.
