nope the brakes are very good. its got dual discs.
i have a 12th scale but a hyper instead of a jammin.
finished breaking it in not long ago and i must say its a sweet little deal!
not much top speed....but i had a jato and i say its more durable than a jato.
better put together.
ive added some 30 series proline.
does take abit of steering away....its not that responsive, however it does pay off by giving you more ground clearance.
for bashing 2.8s are good.
the hyper has some additional things to the crt.5
