RE: Hunter Twin Build
Hi guys!
Dang. After one missed attempt with FedEx and spending all day waiting around for them it finally showed up yesterday! Woohooooooooooo!!!!! Packing was marginal but none the less the boat showed up on time in a respectable amount of time and was in one piece.
And I know this is probably my own fault but holy crap this hull at $1000 makes me really really appreciate the work that HPR puts into his hulls. This hull is crap compared to his hulls. Granted I paid almost double the cost and in no means am I going to be unhappy with this hull but HPR's hull was ready to go showroom right out of the box. This hull has chips, scrapes and inconsistencies from the factory. I've attached those pics so you can see as well. Decent hull....will just take a bit more work to make it perfect!
Matt, question for you. How the hell did Phil cut out that top hatch to access the motors? That's such a fine line there I don't see how he did that and still maintained the strength. It was a nice touch and I plan on doing the same. I'm also ordering a scoop for the top. Think it needs it. And I'm a scoop guy......
Anyway here's pics! Now if I could hurry up and get my sisters wedding done with and family headed back home I can get started on this bad boy!
Also talked with a nice guy from Finland who has a very nice Hunter hull on YouTube.....TMIPredator if you want to check it out. He said the hull maximum speed is around 75kph. Anything past that he said it gets very skiddish. So that's cool. I can be completly happy with around 50mph as a top speed.
Here's the pics! Also some pics of the boat pond here in San Diego I checked out last weekend. Could be kind of funny breaking in the boat in that pond with all those gajillion sail boats! LOL!
