when I removed the case the screen is perhaps 1/10mm away from being flush - if neccessary, you can even use a
knife and trim away that, it's just a thin plastic frame that can easily be removed.

As for starting up the units, two thin cables and a tiny push (impulse) switch is all you need, this will both start the unit
and (on the next push) start the autoshow feature.

I have found that the batteries on the Coby units are weak, so I will replace them with one slightly larger battery to
power both units.
