I've never thrown a magnet. I guess it depends on how you install them
knock on wood, I have only thrown a magnet once, the first one, since then, much care goes into their installation.
Knowing how to properly program throttle curves and not depend completely on technology was my point. If my governos happen to fail for whatever reason, I am not completely sure I will notice until the end of the flight.
The point of all this rambling? A guy is asking basic questions, he needs basic answers. Sometimes additional information is too much information. With the exception of a gyro, I am a firm believer that a newbie should learn to fly his heli without electronic aids. As his skills progress then "complications" can be added.
