Who cares if it is RTR, and painted. $ 3000 for a 1/16 tank is absurd, when I can get one for $140.00. And yes I own both brands and there is no way in hell a Tamiya is worth that premium.
This is like a junk Bond scam. They offer a RTR for $3000, leading people to beleive that the Tamiya kit they are buying for $700 is really going to be worth $3000 when they get it built, so this justifies the expenditure, The truth is it doesn't, and when it comes time to get your equity out of your investment, you will find there is no equity. It was a marketed scam all imagined, with the real value probably being less then a kit. After all that is one of the reason people pay the premium, is because they get to build it.
If Tamiya can sell these, good on them, I guess.
