Do you have a razor plane?? [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAA64&P=ML[/link] . This as easily got to be one of my most favorite tools in my box for building planes. It makes very quick work of shaping large pieces of balsa like the Ultra Sport turtle deck, wing tips, and the cowl area. I've tried the power plane from Hobbico but I like this tool better. With this in the palm of my hand I feel I have a lot more control over what I'm shaving off. On my last Ultra Sport it only took me about 5 minutes to shape the wing tips and cowl using this. I like them so much I actually have 3 of them laying around my shop!!!
