I'm looking for a good basher for around $400. The ones that have caught my eye are the Savage x 4.6 and the MGT 4.6 but there are some concerns that I have about both of them. The concern that I have of the Savage is that I have heard that it strips differentials really easily, is this true for the x or just the older models and is there a cheap solution? I have also heard that the MGT goes through transmissions pretty quickly but can be fixed by doing a forward only conversion, can anyone confirm this?

One last question I have is are these trucks easy to tune and do they hold a tune well? I used to have a tmaxx 2.5 and i would always have to be constantly adjusting it to keep it from overheating. I want a truck that I can tune up in the morning and not have to worry about it the rest of the day.

I'd also like to hear any suggestions of other good bashers in my price range.
